Inscription on reverse reads: “Capt Francis Robinson and his wife Ellen (nee Cummerfield). Pioneer settlers of the Manawatu. Capt. Robinson took up a cattle run on the right bank of the river (between the Borough of Foxton abd present Foxton Beach settlement) about 1845. He died in 1888 and his wife in 1910.”

Hester Rogers nee Burr 1877-1970. A mounted photograph taken at the studios of Attwood & Co, Palmerston North. Information on reverse states that Mrs Rogers was a foundation member of the Palmerston North Operatic Society in 1900.
