Mrs A Collins, Miss A Collins and T U Cook

Inscription on reverse reads: “Annie Amelia “Milly” Collins – eldest daughter of James M Collins and Annie Collins (nee Cook). Born in NZ. (I have the date at home – her baptism record is in Rangiatea Church Records. Thomas Uppadine Cook. Annie Collins wife of James Motteshead Collins Senior.”

Collins family

The nine Collins children with their mother Annie Collins nee Cook. Annie Collins was the eldest daughter of Thomas Uppadine Cook and his wife Te Akau. Annie was married to James Collins and when their eldest child, Amelia, was two, they moved to James’ home in England. All the other children were born there, and only came to Foxton after the death of their father in 1896.
