Mrs R Fitzherbert and her daughter Miss M Fitzherbert standing at the rear of their pupils, on the porch of the school. Twenty one of the twenty three pupils are girls with only two boys in the photograph.

Group of 14 unidentified men outside “The Byko” shop (J. Phillips) on the north-eastern corner of the Queen Street / Oxford Street intersection. There are ten bicycles in this photograph, and many of the men are wearing cloth caps. Five unidentified boys and a black dog are looking on.

Procession of horses, riders & “traps” at the Levin Show, held at the Levin Racecourse, ?pre 1921. Mounted horses are preceeded by horses and traps. To the right is a series of hurdles. To the left the grandstand has a glass paned wall on the eastern side and a New Zealand Ensign is flying from the flagpole atop the stand.

Group of cyclists outside the “Byko” store on the north-eastern corner of the Oxford Street / Queen Street intersection. The cyclists are lined up as if preparing to race, and a crowd stands behind them . The “Byko” store which appears in other photos in this collection as a two storied building, is in this photo a single storied building.

"Flood" outside "Byko" shop

Two boys in a canoe outside The “Byko” store on the northe-eastern corner of the Oxford Street / Queen Street intersection. Although the water is deep enough to paddle the canoe through, it has not reached the inside of the store door, where two unidentified men watch the two boys from. The water is lying across the footpath and onto the road up as far as the skating rink wher two more men are standing.

Motorcycle Meet, Levin Racecourse. Seven men are lined up as if ready to start a race and five unidentified stand behind them. According to inscription on reverse of photograph, the rider second from the left with goggles on his cap is J Phillips, the rider in the centre of the photograph wearing a white jumper is Musgrave, and the man at the extreme left is Shramka.

Sidecar Motorcycles Outside "Byko" Store

Building appears to be same as shown in photo #.0004 “The Byko” shop. Height of tree & thickness of its trunk indicate this photo taken a few years later with alterations and addition of top floor.

Sidecar Motorcycle Enthusiasts outside “Byko” store, north-eastern corner of Oxford Street / Queen Street intersection. Seven motorcycles with sidecars are parted facing the intersection. A number of unidentified adults and children have posed with the machines for the photograph. The businesses in this photo are housed in two storied wooden buildings, and include the bike shop on the corner, “Silver Grid” which serves “Meals at all hours” and has “Fresh Fish Daily”, and another business called “Ocean Accent”.
