Four scenes of Levin c.1909. The top left shows Oxford Street north of the Oxford Street / Queen Street intersection looking south-east. The top right shows a cyclist and a horse and trap on The Avenue. The bottom left shows a busy scene at the railway yards at Weraroa with Prouse’s sawmill in the background. The bottom right shows a group on the western hills overlooking Lake Horowhenua.

Any use of this image must be accompanied by the credit “Horowhenua Historical Society Inc.”

Inscription across the top reads:- “Levin Wanderers Football Club 1909.” Inscription at side reads:- “points for 163 Against 57.” Inscriptions on back read:- “To Flora C McDonald from Joslyn C Saxon.” and “Mrs R A MacDonald, Winchester St, Levin.”

Players and officials of the 1909 Levin Wanderers Football Club. The names of those appearing in the photo have been written above and below the print.

Inscription at the right-hand side reads:- “Points for 163 Against 57.”

Information on sheet of paper with photo - Original bridge over the Manawatu River at Shannon, south of the present bridge site. This would have been reached via Old Foxton Rd (now Bryce St). The photographer was Yerex who was in Foxton c.1906-09
