Main Street, Foxton, c1870

Main Street, Foxton, looking south from Ihakara Gardens, c1870. In the foreground two graves are surrounded by picket fences. In the centre of the photograph a train can be viewed com9ing northwards on the track whih runs down the centre of Main Street. A number of men with corses and carts are in the area now known as “The Triangle”. Residential and commercial properties along with a church line both sides of the street.

Belonged to Mrs Holland’s grandmother. This collection was owned by Mrs Holland, previously Mrs Low (see notes on Ernest Low) and was given by her daughter, Mrs Penny Overton (nee Low).

One charcoal iron with an ornate, pressed knuckle guard and a wooden handle.
