Top Photo Left - Mr Claude Waite shearing a Romney crossbred ewe on Mr R B Denton's property. Watched by Vivienne Denton, Mary Sutton & John Denton. Mr Waite handled well over a million sheep during his 35 years at shearing, is now the chief instructor for the New Zealand Wool Board.

Top Photo Right - Apparently very anxious to get back to the important business of growing wool, these shorn ewes leap out of the pen as John & Vivienne Denton help their father to keep tally.
