Taken in the school library.

White icing as background with red & white ribbon icing around the sides. At the ‘top’ with cream colour icing – school gate arch with black lettering: 1889 School Jubilee 1939 Beneath the ‘arch’ with white & red icing – school emblem & Motto: Play The Game Black lettering at left side – 1889 Black lettering at right side – 1989 Lower half in large lettering of red icing: SHANNON PUBLIC SCHOOL CENTENARY

The cake was cut during the centenary celebrations on Saturday afternoon, 25th March 1989, by Mrs Connie Anderson, nee Harris (earliest enrolled female pupil) and Miss Stacey Penn (current youngest school pupil).

Used in book – “Shannon School Centennial Souvenir 1989”, back cover.
