Adventure park set to open Collis Blake Pictured at left: Mr Collis Blake outside the Levin Adventure Park. Mr Blake said the adventure park - Iwas somewhere for kids of all ages, even the adults ones, to play.

Called the Levin Adventure Park, it is the brainchild of trustee Collis Blake and his wife Helen.

Mr Blake said the park had a dual purpose.

Firstly, it was somewhere for kids of all ages, even the adults ones, to play.

Secondly, he said, it was "so people will actually see Levin as a place to stop for 20 minutes, an hour, a week...that's the guts of it".

"We've lined it up to give a good approach to the town," he said.

"It's a casual, welcoming situation, a friendly approach to the town, and the town is a friendly place to be. "It's like opening the door, the same as when you open the door to your house and say, come in."

It's a chance for tourists, or locals alike, to sit down and have a break, a cuppa and freshen up.

Whether you bring your own picnic, light up the barbecue on site, or choose one of Levirt's many food outlets, it gives people some time out and is a chance to let the kids out of the car to get rid of some excess energy There are facilities available at the kiosk, whether it's the baby's bottle that needs heating in the microwave, or some hot water. There is also a coffee machine, tables, chairs and toilets which are cleaned twice a day, every day.

Flying foxes, a rollerblade area and a climbing wire rope challenge area will keep kids busy. There is also a volleyball court of international Olympic size to be utilised. Swings, trampolines and an area for toddlers to play are also available.
