Description: Believed that when completed this album would have been deposited at Shannon Library for public viewing.

The current state of the album indicates that it would have deteriorated rapidly during public use with many of the photos becoming badly damaged and some ‘lost’ particularly as the items are held in place by double-sided sellotape that is becoming brittle, with the result that many of them are beginning to detach.

Large (A2) green cover photograph album (handmade) 49 leaves – 11 used (page no’s 1 to 21) remaining 38 unused.

Mostly b/w copy photographs with some originals, some colour, 1 original stereoview, 1 school leaving card and a newsclipping.

Most are copies of photos already held in photo archive and where possible accession numbers have been mentioned with the description of each photo in this record.

Some photos have a basic identifying caption penciled above or below, many without identification.

Any use of this image must be accompanied by the credit “Horowhenua Historical Society Inc.”
