Description

Ernest was the son of Thomas Charles Denton and Helen(Nee White). Thomas arrived with his parent's John and Ann and siblings on the Sir George Seymour, one of the ships of the first 4 ships. They landed in Canturbury, where they started farming. John and Ann died while Thomas was still young. Thomas resettled in the North island, where his descendents are still . His son Arthur married and had a large family, most of whom are still alive today. Ernest was my great great Uncle, my great grandfather was his brother Arthur, my grandfather was Arthur's son, Charles. Charles died in 2003 in Gisborne NZ, but not before his first great great grandchild was born. Currently Ernest's branch of the Denton family have 5 generations still living, with many of Arthur's children still alive and well, one of whom lives in Levin
I am proud to have ANZAC's in my family, on both sides. Currently there are Denton's serving with the NZ armed forces, carrying on this proud tradition
