Embroidered Banner – “Western Park C.W.I. 1991”
Mounted with wooden rod and rope cord at top, so it can be readily hung on wall or lecturn etc. Green background with “metallic gold” fringe at bottom. WESTERN PARK C.W.I. letters of “metallic gold” looking material stitched at top, and 1991 numerals of same “metallic gold” material stitched at bottom. Flower – White Lilies and leaves embroidered on seperate coloured pieces of cloth and sewn to banner. Cloth storage holder with cloth tape ties and Western Park CWI written with black indelible ink on inside.
Drawing of the proposed banner for the institute shown and accepted at the institute’s First Birthday celebration, held on April 8th, 1992. Designed and made by Levin woman, Verna Snowden, completed and displayed in July 1992.
Seventh Country Women’s Institute to be formed in the Horowhenua.
