Robert George STAVELEY mascot
Object type:Image
- Description
Mascot (golliwog) made by Bob's sister May and given to him when she saw him off at the Levin train station. Bob carried the mascot in his pocket throughout his time in France. It was still in the pocket of his jacket when he was killed and was brought back to the family by his fellow POW's after the war. By that time May had died in childbirth as well.
