FOUR BUILDINGS DESTROYED.
Hamilton's store at Wereroa, near Levin, was destroyed by fire at four o'clock this morning. The Wereroa Hotel, and blacksmith's and painter's shops adjoining were also burned. Nothing at all was saved. The origin is unknown, Hamilton being absent at Woodville. The hotel was insured altogether for £1400, £1000 m the Phoenix and the balance m the Commercial Union, Hamilton's store is reported to be insured for £400 m the London, Liverpool and Globe, and £100 m the North Queensland. Other insurances are unknown.
