On Saturday the annual meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Football Club wits held at the Levin hotel. There were five old members present and Mr Ball was voted to the chair. New members wore proposed, to the number of 10, including Messrs Hitchings and Allen, erstwhile Levin club players. The meeting then proceeded to the election of officers.

Proposed by Mr Ilitchings, seconded by Mr Allen, that J. H. McDonald Esq., be president. Carried.

Proposed by Mr Allen, seconded by Mr Hitcltings, that Messrs Fitzherhert and IR. Prouse be elected vice-presidents. Carried.

Proposed by Mr Hitchings, seconded by Mr Allen, that Messrs Baldwin and Webb be elected vice-presidents. Carried.

,Mr Wilson Hunia was also elected a vice-president.

After Mr Hitchings had declined the position, Mr Allen was elected captain. Mr Winiata was elected vice-captain.

A match committee composed of Messrs Hitchinns, Allan, W. Andrews and Winiata was elected. An election followed of a management committee consisting of Messrs Hitchings, Allen, Saxon, Gardener, Para, and the officers of the club.

Mr Phillips was elected secretary and Mr Hall treasurer.

Proposed by Mr Allen, seconded by Phillips, that the club colours be changed to dark green jerseys and white pants.

Mr Gardener pointed out that it would be unfair to ask two-thirds of the playing members to discard the jerseys they had to satisfy the fad of any new member and he moved as an amendment that the colours remain the same. Carried.

The entrance fee was filed at 5s, and the meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair.

On Saturday a large number of members of the Levin Club attended practice on their own ground, sides were selected and a good game was indulged in.

The Weraroa Rovers have also been holding good practices during the last week. And although this is entirely a new Club there is a probability of it putting a strong team in the field this season.
