ALTRUSA DONATES MONEY TO PARK

Levin's Altrusa Club has given another $4000 to the development of the Levin Adventure Park. President Jill Robson said the club held a fun run, theatre night, book sale and a garden stroll to raise the money for the park.

She said the club became involved with the park after one of its directors gave a speech to the group. Mrs Robson said the club was pleased to help out in the community.

The club has now given $6000 towards the installation of the toddlers' play area in the new park.

Altrusa, an international service for women, had a strong following in New Zealand with 39 members in Levin. The Levin club had been nominated for the national Mamie L Bass Award for community service.
