SPORTING INTERESTS	Swimming Has compeltively swam since 1984 for the Levin Swimming Club, represented Manawatu in various events over the past four years.
	Notable Achievements Division II PM Championship 1986 Kapiti Swim 1988 6th ladies event Manawatu Long Distance Championship 3rd 1988 Wellington Championship 1989 1st Butterfly 100m Indoor Basketball Played for 2 years for Horowhenua College Teams Squash Recently joined Levin Squash Club Triathalon Finished 4th place in 1988 in Paraparaumu Womens Triathalion in undet 15 class Karena enjoys all sports and the challenge in each.
	For the past 4 years Karena has nursed a personal ambition to swim Cook Strait. She has read about the exploits of Philip Rush and other long distance swimmers admiring their determination to complete a personal ambition.
SWIM	It is hoped to make an attempt on Cook Strait (5th to Nth) late February early March 1989.
