Helen and Collis set up a Charitable Trust correct name? in May 2001 to establish and run the park. The trustees were Helen and Collis. The auditor was Dennis Hanratty.

They went to the Office of Treaty Settlements and with lawyers Knight frank signed a Heads of Agreement on 22 February 2001. There was no problem at all in doing this.

The lease was for 10 years with a right of renewal at a yearly cost of???

In 2002 DTZ Property managers took over the management of the lease.

The Trust employed Susan name? to plan and project manage the building of the park. The first thing built was the toilet block

Mini-golf was put in but taken out as it was 'too boring' Helen. The caretaker looked after it.

The train was at Kimberly and Brendan Duffy persuaded Helen and Collis to bring it to the Park. They had to find more track and really wanted it to go right around the park. Du Care re-built the engine which was originally built in? by?

An old man ??name?? came in with his truck and did the cartage of rubbish and then the tar-sealing. Others heard about it and came and helped to take the rubbish away. There was a lot of rubbish on the grounds, most of which was taken to the farm.

Many people and businesses helped with the clean- up and establishment of the park.

Students from Waiopehu College came and planted trees on the St Joseph's boundary. Rotary put in the fitness trail.

Altrusa did the baby and toddler area

The Levin Club gave the park benches.

The Cossie Club ..

The park was checked out by the OSH people from Palmerston North. They loved it.

The original drum rolls were made by the same place as the ones in the Esplanade in PN. The flying fox had 2 .... So the children could race down it.
