and “These photos are on loan from Mr Colin Cochran of 39 Cook Street, Foxton, son of late Bob Cochran, flaxmiller. (1969).”
A group of “Flaxies” at Berrys Mill Foxton c 1920. The 10 men stand in front of an open ended corrugated iron shed. The man to the left has a bundle of flax in his left hand. Several of the men are wearing aprons and all are dressed for physical labour. Those in the photograph include Mr Jacobsen, Arthur Thomas, Ted Leach, Royal Pitihere, Tom Chaffey, Bob Cochran, and Harry Lamp.
