I Reckon!
(The things we do – or nearly do)
There was one Sister I didn't like. I used to call her,"fingers." She used to love examining you every so often. I suppose she was only doing her job, but if she only knew she came so close to getting a sock in the ear!
Appreciation:
We were a lucky little town to have two great Doctors for so long.
God rest your soul Doctor Teppett. And you, Doctor Malthus.
Thank you both for all you did for my family. I had nine of my 12 children in Foxton. My fourth son and my youngest girl are both six feet and four inches tall!

Also when we had our first baby in 1944, the factory next door blew a whistle at 5.30pm, knock off time, and our daughter was born at that time.
My first baby was born at Foxton Maternity Home in 1944, and my grandson by my fourth daughter was born at the same Home.
The sister in Charge was Sister Lash.
Two Wheeled Saviour:
In 1947 we lived 15 miles out of Foxton and I was in labour so hubby took me into the Foxton Maternity Home. He left me at the door as he had to go home because we had two children there. The pains stopped so it was suggested I stay with my sister-in- [continued next page]
