The church, dedicated in 1930, was a combination of wood and reinforced concrete with a roof of Marseilles tiles. It had a copper sheathed belfry.

The church was next door to the vicarage (shown in the photo on right) which was built in 1915 in a California-bungalow style.

Rangiatea Church in Otaki was destroyed by fire in 1995.
