An Auckland property company and Horowhenua District Council have launched an audacious plan to create a 68 hectare industrial, retail and residential park on Levin's southern doorstep.

Called the Gateway Enterprise Park, the multimillion dollar development will include industrial and commercial buildings, Bunnings-style bulk retail stores, and homes. The report fron the Daily Chronicle is in the attached pdf document.

In July 2007 Harcourts listed the property with the following details:

The Park is located on a hub for transportation throughout New Zealand. It is bounded by Levin to the North, SH1 and the main trunk rail line to the West, and State Highway 57 to the East. Travel time: just over 1 hour to Wellington.

The Park is 68.3 hectare integrated industrial, commercial and retail business park:

  • Stage 1. 18.6 hect of industrial zoned land - (now available)
  • Stage 2. 25 hect of commercial land - (undergoing resource consent)
  • Stage 3. 24.6 hect of commercial, bulk retail - (undergoing resource consent).

The Park is ideal for:

  • Logistic and distribution companies
  • Medium and large-scale manufacturers
  • Import/exporters
  • Small businesses seeking a high quality location
  • Businesses wanting to substantially reduce costs or avoid traffic delays.
