1957 Levin was being developed, a photo was taken of four boys playing amongst tree roots in the Queenwood Road area. Contractors had felled
trees in a bush area around Queenwood Road, Maire and Middlesex Streets, in preparation for a new housing development.
Many of the young children in the area turned it into a play area and promptly made the roots into a fort. The four young boys were
Photographed in their " fort ," but at the time were unidentified.
1988 Thirty one years later the photo came to light and the boys were identified. The photo and article was printed in the Chronicle News Paper
Tuesday, twenty third February 1988. Their names are 1 Andrew Nicholson, 2 Dene Formosa, 3 Kerry Hesp, 4 Billie Nicholson.
2013 Fifty six years later. I ask the Question, are these, "now in their sixties" young men still around ?. It would be interesting to hear their stories.
