Now entering its 43rd year the Horowhenua Scottish Society and Highland Pipe Band is a very active organisation in the community and the band is a very strong one and competes regularly at provincial and national contests.

First Parade:
The Horowhenua Highland Pipe Band's first parade was in Foxton (in civilian clothes) and the second outing was to Shannon in uniforms borrowed from the Manawatu band the occasion being a Shannon School Jubilee.
