Born in Larne, County Antrim, Ireland, in 1835, Mr. McCulloch came to

Spending a short time in Napier, he was appointed clerk of the
Manawatu County, and resided in Foxton for nine years, receiving his
present appointment in 1887.

In 1873 Mr. McCulloch was married to a daughter of the late
Mr. Thomas Crowther, of Wainui-o-mata.'
