Inscriptions on reverse read: “Riverboat S S Planet with flaxpunts early 1900s. This boat was later burned at the Foxton wharf by arsonist. 1908” and “Presented by Mrs Judy Sullivan nee Judy Wishart”.

River boat SS “Planet” with flaxpunts on either side on the Manawatu River in early 1900s. Both punts are loaded with flax and the three vessels are tied to the southern bank of the Manawatu River. A woman with a floppy cap and a sunshade sits at the stern of the “Planet” On each punt a man is standing while two men recline on the flax on the right hand punt. The Tararua Ranges are visible in the background. The “Planet” was later burned by arsonists at Foxton Wharf (1908).
