- Lake Koputara 1, 2, 3 and Lake Omanu complex (Whitebait Creek) - near Foxton Beach) - Three Koputara lakes and Lake Omanu are linked with the outlet flowing into the Manawatu estuary at Foxton Beach.
- Lake Papaitonga - Waiwiri Stream
- Ohau River Dune Lakes
- Ohau Loop - This channel is artificial to drain the Ohau Loop which itself is a former meandering section of the Ohau River that has been separated from the river to speed up flood flows. It also has a floodgate.
- Te Hakari Wetlands.
It also refers to the creation of Te Hakari and Ohau Dune Lake wetlands by the earthquake of 1840 which separated the shared estuary of the Waikawa Stream and the Ohau River.
