Looking down to one of the dams, Mangahao, 1920’s

Used in book – “From Bush & Swamp”, page 111 with caption: Costruction at one of the dam sites. Although highly mechanised for those times, much of the labour was still manual, not made any easier by the rugged conditions and isolation.
