Mrs Herring is at the left of the photograph and is wearing a spotted dress and scarf underneath a heavy fabric coat. She has three strands of pearls around her throat. The unidentified woman is in the centre of the photograph and is wearing a dress with a belt at the waist, a jacket with embroidery on the left hand side, and a single strand of pearls around her neck.
