The following information came from a discussion with Nancy in 1990:
Nancy's mother Alice, was a very intelligent lady; was the Post Mistress at Castlepoint before marrying David Foster. Nancy's parents, Alice and David Foster, lived in Eketahuna, Te Kuiti (1917) and Taueru before settling in Masterton, and then Stanley Street, Eketahuna. They had a beach house at Hokio Beach and both died and are buried in Levin.
Alice's mother was Caroline Elizabeth Taplin (nee McDonald). She thinks Caroline Elizabeth's husbands name was James, and that they had the following children:
- Alice (Nancy's mother) m David FOSTER (from Timaru)
- Amy m George WISHART
- Bunny (Alfred James) m MayWILSON. Children: Reg, Molly Ivan and Jim
- Arthur Edward - did not marry. Owned race horses.
Nancy and husband Des were both delivererd by the same midwife, Nurse Watson, in the same house at Weraroa.
