The meeting commenced with the lady who started it all, Pam Retter, who gave us the history of our club and how it grew from not so small beginnings.

Then our President, Yvonne Symonds, introduced our very well kept secret: guest speaker from Australia, international prize-winning quilt artist and tutor: Gloria Loughman.

Gloria entertained us with her stunning quilts and many storiesof her travels:

- from Holland to Japan

- from Inverness (with the clumsy projectionist) to USA (and a trip to hospital)

- from a flooded classroom in Germany and the handsome firefighters who came to rescue them to a class near Katherine during the floods when a lady arrived covered in mud.

Our meeting closed with Pam cutting our 21st birthday cake.

We went on to enjoy time with our friends and a lovely supper.
