Mr Alessandro Volta (b.1745 – d.1827) 1 B&W photo print

The unit of electrical potential, the “Volt” is named in his honour. 1794 began experimenting with metals to produce electric current. 1800 produced electric pile / battery. 1801 demonstrated his battery to Emperor Napoleon in Paris, who made him a Count.
