Location | Map VI Adkin |
The name and position were supplied by Heremaia (Jeremiah) Rangitawhia, the last surviving member of Ngati-Te Rangi hapu.
He stated that the name of this place was not connected with that of the Mua-upoko tribe (thus confirming the spelling given), but was due to an incident that occurred there involving the eating, or the setting up for ridicule, of some human heads; he was unable to recall the exact details.
