New church marked jubilee year:

The Golden Jubilee of Levin in 1956 was marked by the Catholic Community with the laying of the foundation stone of the present. St. Joseph's Church in Weraroa Road, on the 4th March by Archbishop P. T. McKeefry, to replace St. Andrews Church in Mako Mako Road, built in 1898.

The first telephone exchange:1907:

The first telephone exchange at Levin opened on August 7, 1907 in the Post Office, with just 46 subscribers able to call each other from their own homes.

Thompson House:

Under the guiding hand of the then Mayor, Mr Laurie Roberts and the vision of Cr (Mrs) Pat Hamid, the establishment of Thompson House as a memorial trust for arts, crafts and culture came about in 1974.
