The Evening Post 19 February 1931 reported:
Fire at Levin
Fire at 12.30 a.m. destroyed a shop owned by Mrs. Herrick and occupied by W. E. Monks, tailor, who also lost his stock. The building was insured for £600 in the Norwich office and 'the stock and fittings for £300 in the Sun office. Slight, damage was done to the adjoining premises occupied by Cameron brothers 3 (mercers), Ham (confectioner), Henderson (cycle agent), and Hannah (pie shop), all of which are insured.
