Golf has been played by Levin people almost as long as the borough has been in existence, and this year, the Levin Golf Club celebrates its 70th anniversary.

John Dury, Paraparaunu, playing in the North Island championships in the early 1960s, the premiere amateur event centred in the Moutere Links by Levin Golf Club.

The year 1977 saw the Levin Golf Club celebrating 25 years on its course at Moutere. Mrs Dr Hunter and Mrs N. Hosie were two of the oldest members at the jubilee and could recall the first golf course in Levin.
