Mr Andre-Marie Ampere (b.1775 – d.1836) 1 B&W photo print
The unit of electrical current, the “Ampere” is named in his honour. (Often abbreviated to “Amp”). Podigy who at 12 years old had mastered all mathematics then extant. By 1825 had laid the foundation of electomagnetic theory, including the law of electromagnetism (Ampere’s Law) that describes the force between 2 electric currents.
