This memorial is located in Plimmer Terrace, Shannon and lists the names of Shannon residents who have served in World Wars.
The photo on the left was taken at the unveiling of the memorial on 25 April 1924 - on the left of the photograph is Mr J.T. Bovis, Shannon's first Town Clerk. In the centre is an unidentified piper. To the right is Mr William Murdock, Shannon's first Mayor. In the foreground is a baby in a pram.
