About Richard Boateng:

Richard Yaw Boateng is from Ghana in West Africa.

He grew up on his grandfather’s palace in a village called Aveme Beme, Kpando district in the Volta region, where music was an integral part of the everyday life.

From his childhood and through continuous study of traditional Ghanaian music, Yaw has become a master drummer, dancer, composer and storyteller.

His career in New Zealand has included touring extensively through the North Island in the year 2004 to 2007 with his former afrobeat band, Gahu.

His current band Zoh Zoh offers entertainment to many people through the usage of drums, dance, gongs, chants songs and shakers - 'ZOH MUSIC'
