kia ora I just wanted to make a correction re the ancestral home of Hector McDonald the 1st. He was from the isle of Cull in the inner Hebrides not the Isle of Bute as discribed in Tony Simpson's book and on this website. I visited Cull in 2000 and met many of our relatives still living there and they took me to our ancestral home on the Island. Also thanks heaps for putting this site up it is very informative and I have learnt a lot and also have a lot of research I could contribute.
