Penciled on back: “Opening Weraroa P.O.”

A large group of people stands while the official party sits to listen to a speech from Sir Joseph Ward at the opening of the Weraroa Post Office, April 21, 1910. This ceremony took place at the Levin Railway Station, opposite the Post Office at Weraroa, and the building in this photograph shows the main entrance of the Railway Station which opened into the waiting room.
