After confirmation of minutes the Chairman asked for a suspension of the standing orders and moved, That this Council do now adjourn for an hour out of respect to the memory of the late Councillor Thomson, and that the Chairman be instructed to write to Mrs Thomson, conveying the sympathy of the Council in her sad bereavement. - Carried.
On the Council resuming the inward and outward correspondence was read and the following resolutions were passed:-
That tenders be called, to be in by next meeting, for the formation of culverts and bridges on the County road, from Carmedy's formation towards Shannon, as far as peg 45 on the plan now before the Council, and initialled by the Chairman.
That the report of the Waikawa Pound Committee be adopted.
That this Council accepts the offer of Mrs Amie Botting for compensation for road purposes as embodied in agreement.
That the ranger be instructed to have the portion of road referred to in Mr Stuckey's letter metalled.
That Cr Davies be authorised to arrange with owners of bush land adjoining the Heatherlea road near Porotawhao, to have the same felled, with power to act.
That with a view of securing the services of the present Clerk of the Council it is desirable to enter into [ends here]
