Even the enthusiastic promoters of the formation of the Horowhenua Basketball Association back in June 22, 1931 could hardly have envisaged the phenominal growth of the sport.

With a foundation membership of 24 the Altrusa Club of Levin was formed in March 1974 at the instigation of Altrusan Alma McMillan and the sponsorship of the Wanganui Club.

Early Dentist:
School dental clinics are the accepted thing today, but long before the State saw the wisdom of regular attention being paid to childrens teeth right through their school days a Levin dentist was giving such a service throughout the schools in this district.
