Interspersed with the wedding dresses from various dates, the parade included fashions from past times.

Around 1950 permanent pleating came into vogue. An accordion pleated skirt and twinset was the "in" winter wear. The pleating was very popular and followed into the 60's in dresses. We now present what the 1960's wedding guest would have worn.

Heritage Old Fashion Parade - 1960s Margaret Margaret wears a blue crepe 3/4 sleeve dress.
  • The bodice front has pretty blue and gold buttons and features fine pleating ending at mock pockets.
  • The waist is elasticized and finished with a belt.

Dot is wearing a pink dress with grey stripes, again with the elastized waist and a tie belt.

Heritage Old Fashion Parade - 1960s Gloy

Gloy has on a teal long sleeved dress, elasticized at the waist and cuffs.

  • The complete top is very finely pleated.

Heritage Old Fashion Parade - 1970s Gloy Gloy follows in another dropped waisted dress in polyester. The cream top has thin brown lines both vertical and diagonal ending in a pleated skirt. Gold buckles are at the waist with brown ties.
