Kete Horowhenua2020-03-23T16:54:47+00:0029th November 2011 marked 100 years since the Carnegie Library first opened in Levin in 1911.
To mark the 100 years since the Carnegie first opened in 1911, Levin library celebrated in style with staff dressed in period costume and the library dressed in props from yesteryear, complete with a penny farthing. Patrons were treated to a performance by a duo from the Levin operatic society as well as another entertaining performance by a 3 piece band, Jeronacol. The week culminated with the Volunteer’s party where there was an official cutting of the centenary cake by Jo Ransom (Head of Libraries), Rosalie Blake (previous H. O. L.), Susan Cameron (former H.O.L.), and Sharon Crosbie (Trustee).
